Growing Lettuce

DSC_0155

I started growing lettuce greens a few years ago from seeds.  My favorite and easiest to grow from seed is salad bowl lettuce.  I also like to pick up a lettuce mix of plants already started.

Since homegrown greens have more nutrients and no preservatives compared to store bought greens, I’m going to grow more of my own and buy them from local farmers as often as possible.  Growing them inside during the colder months might be worth looking into as well.

I like to mix herbs with my greens.  Parsley, cilantro, & dill are awesome in a salad.  My favorite go-to dressing is 1/4 cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard, a pinch of ground nutmeg, salt & pepper.

I hope you have a pleasant weekend & bee well!

  1. Looks so yummy, I am missing fresh lettuce from the garden. It is way too hot right now to grow this.
