Susquehannock Hike -February 2020

We recently went hiking at Susquehannock State Park.  It was a warm 51 degrees and such a beautiful day. I left one of my painted rocks along the trail. This is ruins of a homestead from long ago. This is a branch off a huge tree.  Perfect spot to sit and have a snack. The…

Samuel S. Lewis State Park

Today we went to a State Park we visited once before in 2014.  We did more hiking than last time and here are our pictures.  We can’t wait to return in the summertime to play disc golf and fly our kite. This park used to have an arboretum. Squirrel tracks. Beautiful views of the Susquehanna…

Winter Hike – Beltzville State Park

Today we enjoyed a 3 mile winter hike. We hiked past the waterfall, big hemlock trees, and along the ridge trail.  There was a light dusting of snow. “Between every two pines there is a doorway to a new world.” -John Muir

Tuscarora State Park

This was the second State Park we have ever been to, and that was in the year 2001.  We have been here hundreds of times since then because this is the park we go hiking at the most.  The trails are just so beautiful and it’s relatively close to home.  Sometimes we enjoy canoeing, swimming,…

Kinzua Bridge and Bald Eagle State Parks

Back in October 2015, we went camping at Cook Forest and visited Kinzua Bridge and Bald Eagle State Parks. Kinzua bridge was once the longest and tallest railroad structure until partially destroyed by a tornado in 2003. The last picture is a black squirrel we saw on our way to a nearby town to eat dinner.

Tobyhanna Lake Hike

We went to Tobyhanna State Park on Nov 28th. We hiked the five mile trail around the lake.

Fall Hike

This is a fall hike we went on before Thanksgiving – Nov 12th. I love the pictures of the leaves in the lake and the ground cedar along this trail is really pretty. There is still plenty of sunshine to enjoy.

Beltzville State Park

Hubby and I went to Beltzville State Park last weekend. We ate our veggie wraps then found a ridge trail to hike. We saw a waterfall and some pretty wildflowers nearby. It was a relaxing day and this was our second visit to the park.
