Happy April – 2020

I went for my daily walk outside earlier, which is usually up the driveway and back through the woods.  The sun peeked out just as I was photographing the cherry tree.  It has more flowers on it than last year. I haven’t seen a lot of birds at this little side feeder, but occasionally one…

Periwinkles

“And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.” -William Shakespeare

Homemade Potpourri

Creative project of the day.🌸❣️ I collected leaves, flowers, and other natural materials over the last few years to make potpourri.  I put it in a pretty bowl🌸 and added more hyacinth & forsythia today from my walk.  It smells nice & is such a delight to look at.   “No bought potpourri is so pleasant…

Starting Seeds – March 28, 2020

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson Yesterday I started some seeds.  Milkweed & purple bee balm for my native plant garden.  I also treated myself to blue zinnias.  I can’t wait to enjoy them and take photos. The flower above is from…

Spring Showers

🧚‍♀️”April showers bring may flowers.”🧚‍♀️   “The richness of the rain made me feel safe and protected; I have always considered the rain to be healing—a blanket—the comfort of a friend. Afternoon Spring Walk

We went on a 4 mile walk this afternoon.  We passed another couple looking at a frog and told them we saw turtles too.  They passed us again later and told us they saw the turtles. I took these photos at home while enjoying a cup of coffee. I have laundry to do so Bubba…

My Garden Notes – Pansies

Welcome to my blog!  I love to share my notes about gardening.  I’m so happy spring is here and it’s so much fun getting your hands in the dirt after a long winter.  ❤ Pansies thrive in cool weather, so it’s important to buy them as early in the spring season as possible.  That way…

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge At Tinicum

I really enjoyed visiting this beautiful park. It’s the largest remaining freshwater tidal wetland near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. What was once 5,700 acres is now around 1,000 acres. It’s just so beautiful and unique! I hope you will enjoy the pictures.  I was excited to see some pretty spring ephemeral flowers to photograph. This egret waved…
